Medallion Financial Corp. on Wednesday said it agreed to sell its business lenders division to a Merrill Lynch subsidiary in a deal worth about $20 million.

The business lenders division makes government-backed small business loans in 35 states and manages about $120 million in loans, Medallion said in a statement.
