Applied Card Systems officials, Attorney General Darrell McGraw and two Cabell County commissioners will meet today to try to end a fight that could lead to 600 lost jobs in Huntington.
?They seem to be at a stalemate,? said Commissioner Scott Bias. ?We just can?t sit by idly and let almost 600 jobs and a $20 million payroll leave Cabell County.?
The meeting?s attendants will likely include McGraw and his staff, Bias and fellow Commissioner Bob Bailey, and Applied Card officials, including Chairman Rocco A. Abessinio.
Applied Card processes credit cards for parent company Cross Country Bank, which provides high-interest credit cards to people with bad credit histories. McGraw accuses Applied Card and Cross Country Bank of illegal debt-collection and sales methods.
