New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has sued a Rhode Island telemarketing company for improper business practices.
The lawsuit charges false claims by solicitors who said they worked for law enforcement agencies and that all donations would go to charity.
Spitzer contended in a suit filed in state Supreme Court in Albany, that Liberty Productions’ employees also falsely said they were calling from the offices of the 16 police-related groups they were representing, including the Niagara Falls Police Club.
