The U.S. Congress should place the Farm Credit System, a farmers’ cooperative, under the same regulator as other government-sponsored enterprises such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, a bankers group argued in a new paper.


The American Bankers Association said consolidating regulation of the government-sponsored enterprises would increase efficiency and improve regulatory control.
