A union representing 10,000 HSBC Holdings PLC workers in Britain called for a one-day strike on Friday to protest the bank’s latest wage offer.

Talks between the union and the bank broke down Monday because they were unable to agree about pay for clerical workers, union official Rob O’Neill said Thursday.
