ACA International Foundation Raises Over $20,000 to Help Support Financial

On July 17, the ACA International Foundation held its first ever Foundation Golf Tournament for Financial Literacy at Disney?s Osprey Ridge Golf Course in Orlando, Fla. The tournament was held in conjunction with the 63rd Annual Convention and Exposition of ACA International (ACA), The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. ACA members, family and friends teed-off to raise more than $20,000 to help support the Foundation?s commitment to financial literacy and collector training programs.

?We are very overwhelmed at the generosity and commitment of our members in supporting the Foundation,? said Margaret Kersteter, Vice President of Administration and staff liaison to the ACA Foundation. ?With their help and dedication, we can continue to provide valuable resources for education in financial literacy as well as collector training programs for physically impaired individuals.?

Through this support, the ACA Foundation has developed three new Community Education Kits that can be used throughout the year to educate consumers on ways to achieve financial success. In addition, donations from the golf tournament will assist the STAR (Special Technology Access Resources) Center by funding educational materials and resource training to physically impaired individuals. Since partnering with the ACA Foundation in 2000, the STAR Center has trained and placed more than 50 physically impaired individuals in positions within the credit and collection industry.
