The days of the screaming bill collector are officially over, according to suburban collection agency owners Dino Romano and Greg Haldeman, who are ushering in a kinder, gentler method of collecting.

“It’s the old adage, you get more with honey – or whatever it is,” Haldeman,president of Confidential Credit Consultants Corporation in Naperville, IL, said.

Romano, owner of Wilkison & Romano, LLC in Aurora, IL, concurred.

“You are going to get more results by educating consumers than by threatening them,” he said.
