CINCINNATI, OH – General Revenue Corp. (GRC), the nation’s largest post-secondary higher education collection firm and a subsidiary of Sallie Mae, today announced the company is one of seven selected agencies eligible to collect defaulted student receivables for the California State University System (CSU). This puts GRC on a short-list of approved providers for the 23 CSU schools for third-party collection services.
“It’s a privilege to partner for the first time with the California State University System,” said Dave Robinson, GRC vice president of sales and marketing. “GRC has a solid understanding of the education-related receivable needs within California since we’ve been working with non-state system schools in California for many years.”
Diana Marie Chow, supervisor of university loans and collections at San Francisco State University, said, “We were impressed with GRC’s excellent track record. The company is a proven and effective recovery specialist, and we look forward to building a partnership with them to increase our collections effort and return taxpayer dollars to the state.”
“California is a state that is very important to us,” said Joe Fazzini, GRC president and chief operating officer. “We have worked hard to demonstrate our commitment, and throughout the years, GRC has partnered with the California Colleges & Universities Loan Administrators Association (CCULAA) to conduct and co-sponsor workshops on collections best practices. I’m confident we can provide the state schools with a total debt management solution that will benefit their campuses.”
With more than 23 years specializing in the collection of delinquent debt, GRC has redefined the art of borrower consultation and negotiation and utilizes state-of-the-art technology to its fullest. More than 800 institutions across the United States entrust GRC with the responsibility of resolving their borrowers’ outstanding debt obligations. The company employs more than 750 people and specializes in the recovery of education-related receivables.
