Huntington Bancshares Inc. said a security breach at a transaction-processing company earlier this month may have exposed about 30,000 of it debit card holders to identity thieves.
Huntington said it identified 107 customers who were at particular risk because their accounts showed unusual activity. It notified the customers by phone and closed their accounts. The Columbus, OH-based bank holding company is notifying the rest of the customers by mail.
