Police in North Carolina have opened an investigation into a debt collection agency where an employee has been accused of impersonating a police officer in the course of attempting to collection a debt, according to a North Carolina TV station. A consumer in the state claimed that a collector called her and claimed that he was a local sheriff’s deputy and threatened her with arrest.
