Sallie Mae, the largest U.S. student loan company, said on Tuesday that it plans to continue to pursue its $1 billion offer for a Pennsylvania non-profit college student loan agency, despite initial rejection.
Reston, Virginia-based SLM Corp., more widely known as Sallie Mae, made the announcement one day after the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) rejected the unsolicited bid. The initial bid for PHEAA was made in a letter dated Dec. 14.
