KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s Southern Bank Bhd said on Wednesday it has called off talks with GE Capital to develop automobile financing business in Malaysia.

“The decision not to proceed further was based on the mutual recognition by both parties that a number of strategic issues could not be readily resolved,” the bank said in a statement.
