NORTH HUNTINGDON, PA – The United Consumers Advocacy Network (UCAN) and Partners for Fair Debt Collections (PFDC) announced today their agreement to combine forces and form the largest consumer advocacy organization aimed at protecting clients of debt relief companies from abusive collections practices of creditors and collection agencies.

This agreement represents a combined client base of nearly 10,000 debtors with over $100 million of debt in approximately 60,000 creditor accounts. The resulting organization will assume the UCAN name and maintain its headquarters in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

“I’m very excited because as the company is getting larger, the service offerings are growing as well,” explains Dave Leuthold, who will assume leadership of UCAN from his current role as president of PFDC. “These new services will give debt relief companies a much greater competitive advantage as their clients face the growing challenges of resolving their debts.”

UCAN services are only available to consumers enrolled in a program with a debt relief company that subscribe to UCAN’s services. UCAN will offer three levels of advocacy services to fit the various needs of agencies and their clients.
