Mexican retail chain Coppel plans to launch a small bank and pension fund to attract the savings of the country’s increasingly sought after working class.
Coppel, which specializes in selling clothing and domestic electronics products on credit, has applied to the government for permission to operate a bank and pension fund manager, chief executive Enrique Coppel told Reuters on Wednesday.
