Office Depot Inc. is eliminating 97 jobs at its Delray Beach headquarters as well as 520 full-time retail store positions across North America in a second round of cost-cutting, the company announced Friday.

The company, that employs 2,300 people at its corporate headquarters, said the move will put its operations and overhead costs in line with similar retail chains. The jobs here are primarily in marketing and information technology.

Meanwhile, Office Depot is also outsourcing its debt collection operations in Wichita, Kan., letting 95 workers go.

Neil Austrian, Office Depot interim chairman and chief executive said the cuts have been mulled for some time.
