Federal Reserve governor Susan Bies said on Wednesday that although the United states economy may be losing steam, it is still on solid ground.

“This economy may be slowing but this is still a good economy,” Bies told reporters after a speech before a risk management conference. “We are doing pretty good growing at 3-1/2 percent.”
