The Lakeland, FL offices are aggressively hiring account representatives who speak Spanish proficiently enough to communicate billing inquiries, said Jim Tabers, the general manager.
The teleservices company needs Spanish speakers because MCI has an increasing customer base that doesn't speak English well enough to discuss billing, he said.
"We've always been hiring, but it's a critical need right now," Tabers said. "One hundred percent of MCI's Spanish-language collections are to be done from this center for customer accounts."
The Houston-based GC Services has 34 call and collection centers nationally, and employs 11,000 workers. It is a privately-held company founded in 1957 as an accounts receivable management provider.
