Winners Announced in First Annual Best Places to Work in Collections Program

The complete rankings of companies recognized as the “Best Places to Work in Collections” was revealed today by accounts receivable management publication insideARM.

Working with Best Companies Group to identify the best workplaces in the accounts receivable management industry, insideARM launched the recognition program in 2008. Response from the industry exceeded expectations.

“We were surprised at how many companies took the time to complete the process,” said insideARM publisher Stephanie Eidelman. “Best Companies Group created a thorough, and some would say onerous, process to determine the best places to work in many industries. But we feel that it produces the truest results.”

A total of 25 companies in the ARM industry were named to the inaugural Best Places to Work in Collections list. The companies were divided between small, medium, and large firms and ranked according to Best Companies Group’s scoring criteria for questionnaires completed by the companies and their employees.

The winners in each category are:

• Large company (250+ employees): National Patient Account Services, a Louisville, Ky.-based healthcare collector with 713 employees.

• Medium company (75-249 employees): SoundBite Communications, a communications technology provider to the ARM industry based in Bedford, Mass.

• Small company (15-74 employees): Financial Credit Network, a 62-person collection agency based in Visalia, Calif.

The winners were chosen based on a two-part survey methodology. The first part consisted of a thorough questionnaire completed by management of each firm that focused on company policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part involved surveying a sampling of each company’s workers to measure employee experience.

The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.
