Visionary Medical Systems Acquires Medical Billing Firm

Visionary Medical Systems today announced that it has acquired Antek HealthWare, LLC, a privately held company based outside Baltimore, MD, that develops practice management and laboratory information software for the healthcare industry. The acquisition represents a strategic move for Visionary in the laboratory information systems arena and signals a long-term commitment toward the development of a broader physician healthcare information technology strategy. Antek’s management team will continue to manage, deliver and support its current suite of products. Financial terms were not disclosed, as part of the agreement between the organizations.

By integrating electronic lab results with Visionary’s EHR, physicians will be able to reduce the time required to report on and consult patient studies.
