USOBA Presents at 2009 Annual DBA International Conference

The United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives (USOBA), a trade association dedicated to the advancement of consumer protection in the debt settlement industry, presented at the DBA International Pre-Conference Tuesday afternoon. Ms. Jenna Keehnen fielded a variety of questions from the audience following her presentation.

“Education about our industry to all parties involved is vital,” Keehnen said. “Open lines of communication will ensure success for everyone involved. These are the first steps in a long process.”

This is Keehnen’s first time to receive an invitation to speak at the DBA International conference. Her presentation addressed various methods that will allow the debt buyer community to work more harmoniously with the debt settlement industry, benefiting consumers in the long run.

“As I experienced during the question and answer phase, there are numerous questions that need to be addressed by both USOBA and DBA International member companies. I do not expect the solutions to be simple, and creativity will be necessary to overcome some obstacles”, Keehnen stated.

The annual DBA International conference provides educational and networking opportunities, promotes the debt buying industry, and informs attendees on the latest trends in the industry. The conference is being held at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from February 3-5. About 1,300 attendees are expected, and over 100 exhibits will be displayed. All major issuers of the debt purchasing industry and a number of collection companies will be attending the DBA International Conference.
