San Diego, CA – On December 22, 2004 The Sagres Company became the twenty-third company to achieve Professional Practices Management System (PPMS) certification through ACA International’s Best Practices program. ACA believes that The Sagres Company, a distressed debt-purchasing specialist, is the first non-contingency agency to have achieved this certification. The 11-year-old San Diego-based company is recognized as a leader in the distressed debt industry.

PPMS is a business management systems model designed and offered exclusively through ACA International (ACA). As a stand-alone training program, it introduces credit and collection professionals to industry-specific business practices and procedures that, once implemented, lead to the operation of an efficient, fiscally sound, ethically responsible and legally compliant organization. In order to achieve this exclusive certification, Sagres successfully completed a rigorous, year-long application and audit process.
Tom Ferris, Chief Executive Officer of The Sagres Company, said, “ In order to own any process we must have it documented in useable detail. PPMS sets the foundation and ties into our documented internal systems in a way that allows us to cover more ground in the most efficient way possible. Our corporate culture has embraced the concept of constant improvement, and I commend our Human Resources Director, Cathy Montes and her team for making it happen in 2004.”
