Fifth Third Bancorp to Announce Fourth Quarter 2008 Earnings, Host Conference Call

Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ: FITB) will report fourth quarter 2008 financial results on January 22, 2009. The earnings announcement will be available at www.53.com at approximately 6:30 AM ET. The Company will host a conference call at 8:30 AM ET to discuss results.

This conference call will be webcast live by Thomson Financial and may be accessed through the Fifth Third Investor Relations website at www.53.com (click on "About Fifth Third" then "Investor Relations"). The webcast also is being distributed over Thomson Financial's Investor Distribution Network to both institutional and individual investors. Individual investors may listen to the call through Thomson Financial's individual investor center at www.earnings.com or by visiting any of the investor sites in Thomson Financial's Individual Investor Network. Institutional investors may access the call via Thomson Financial's password-protected event management site, StreetEvents (www.streetevents.com).
