Experian®, a global information solutions provider, today announced that it is rolling out enhancements to its collections skip tracing products. MetroNet is a powerful database that locates the names, addresses and phone numbers of consumers and businesses. MetroNet offers credit grantors, collection agencies, debt buyers, and law firms, among many others, with two options in affixing a phone type indicator code when providing a telephone number back to its clients:

  • Probable Cell Phone indicator that provides indicator for cellular phones only.
  • Multiple Phone Type indicator that provides multiple phone type indicator codes which identify a variety of phone types including Landline, Probable Cellular, Directory Assistance, Probable Pager, Mixed use-potential cellular, Broadband and Collect Calls.

By identifying the cellular phone numbers Experian returns, companies are then able to use those phone numbers in a manner consistent with their business and compliance policy. The phone type indicator code can be returned for both residential and business phone numbers.
