Call center operator and collection provider Afni, Inc. announced Thursday that it is building a new call center in Tucson, Ariz. and will expand another office in the city. The company expects to add 350 jobs in the expansion.

Headquartered in Bloomington, Ill., Afni has 13 offices in six states. The company's total workforce of about 5,000 includes 1,200 employees dedicated to the ARM function.

The new 53,000 square foot office in Northwest Tucson will be the company's largest, according to Alan Angelo, marketing manager for Afni. The firm will move about 500 employees from an exisiting facility in Tucson to the new call center, and add another 200 people to the location. Afni also plans to add about 150 employees to another office in the area, resulting in about 1,900 staff in the Tucson area, Angelo said.

“This is all a part of our continued growth,” Angelo told insideARM.com. “We are currently at full capacity in nearly all of our locations, so we will begin to recruit to fill the extra seats early next year.”

The company has been on a growth tear. In 2006, Afni opened a new call center in San Antonio, Texas, expanded its call center in Bowling Green, Ky., and bulked up its Tucson offices.

The 70-year-old company provides tailored call center, collections, insurance, and debt purchase services to clients nationwide.
