Officials from a Texas tax collection agency expressed surprise at Montana's decision to drop their company and said they had virtually no complaints from Montanans its employees called to collect delinquent income taxes.

Bob Wenzel, president of GC Services of Houston, and Bob Tisone, director of the government division, came to Helena this week to meet with top state Revenue Department officials, Sen. Mike Cooney, D-Helena, and the press.
A May 15 story by the Billings Gazette State Bureau reported that with the Legislature's backing, the Revenue Department had terminated a contract with GC Services. Cooney and some colleagues said constituents complained about rude treatment by GC Services employees who were trying to recover back taxes.
