Capital One Unit Target of Federal Suit over Collection Practices

A West Virginia woman has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against a subsidiary of Capital One Bank claiming violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, according to The Charleston Gazette. She is seeking class-action status for the suit which alleges a debt collection unit of Capital One sought payment of a debt she had already paid through another collection agency.
