“The objective of EFM” says Tom Crotty BSI’s President and CEO “is to improve the efficiency of transitioning claim inventory to outside agencies and attorney firms and enabling an organization to be more proactive and consistent with the detailed management of their outsourced inventory of accounts”.

With COGENT's Enterprise Forwarding Manager Debt Purchasers, ARMs and Original Creditors are able to create separate rules that define the profiles of accounts that are eligible to be outsourced to either an attorney firm or a collection agency.  These rules are then used by EFM to systematically identify the appropriate claims and flag them as eligible to be forwarded to either group.  Assignments of the eligible claims are made automatically to the organization’s receiver partners based on parameters on each receiver profile that identify geographical coverage areas, and a long list of characteristics of claims that outline what types of accounts should be sent to each receiver.  COGENT’s EFM also leverages the extensive inventory management controls found in the core COGENT application allowing an organization to enforce automated workflow and business rules to their outsourced inventory.

Placements and update files are generated on demand or produced on a pre-defined schedule in a variety of formats.  By leveraging BSI’s “Rule Engine” and their standard forwarding workflow, EFM enables the forwarding organization to drive the lifecycle of outsourced claims, identifying non-compliance with procedures and determining recalls etc.  Along with the suite of analytical tools available in COGENT's open Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database, COGENT EFM automates the forwarding process and provides an organization with the data and tools needed to effectively manage their outsourced inventory and identify which receivers are performing best for them.
