Aktiv Kapital Signs Collection Contract with Nordea

Norwegian debt buyer and collection agency Aktiv Kapital (Oslo: AIK) said Monday that it has signed a new debt collection contract with Scandinavian banking giant Nordea.

The new agreement, which runs for three years, calls for Aktiv to provide debt collection services Nordea businesses in Norway,  including Nordea Bank ASA, Nordea Finans and Norgeskreditt AS.

Aktiv Kapital has counted Nordea as a debt collection client in Norway since 2003, when Aktiv acquired Nordea's debt collection subsidiary Inkassosentralen.

Aktiv Kapital, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is Europe's and Canada's largest purchaser of non-performing consumer debt portfolios and an international player in the debt collection business. The company has operations in 11 countries and reported revenues of $302 million in 2007.
