Another Indian BPO company has snapped-up a U.S.-based healthcare BPO provider. Hyderabad, India-based Apollo Health Street announced Thursday that it will acquire Atlanta-headquartered Zavata, Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Apollo provides BPO services to healthcare providers around the world. The company is a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Group, an India-based healthcare provider with 35 hospitals, 40 clinics, and 100 pharmacy units in India, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Apollo Health Street has 900 employees at offices in India, the U.S., and the United Kingdom.

Zavata focuses on BPO in the healthcare market and caters to both provider and insurance clients. Last year, Zavata acquired Accordis, a revenue cycle management services firm that also provides debt collection services. Zavata has around 1,000 employees in six U.S. states and in India.

Zavata’s access to niche markets in the healthcare BPO space drove the deal. “In addition to the set of services we already offer, Zavata adds a complementary set of services, including expertise in areas such as full business office outsourcing and emergency medical transport billing,” said Apollo Managing Director Sangita Reddy in a press release.
