Debt collection and BPO giant NCO Group, Inc. Monday announced the appointment of Ronald A. Rittenmeyer as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Rittenmeyer has been consulting with the senior management team over the past four months on its business plan, growth initiatives, offerings and costs savings improvements, according to a press release.

Michael Barrist, NCO’s longtime CEO and President, will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“We thank Michael Barrist for his 25 years with NCO and the leadership he has provided the company,” said Colin Farmer, a Managing Director at One Equity Partners and a member of the NCO Board. “Ron Rittenmeyer has a strong record as a successful CEO and we are thrilled to partner with him in the next phase of NCO’s growth.”

Rittenmeyer is a seasoned executive in the business process outsourcing solutions (BPO) industry, most recently as Chairman, President and CEO of Electronic Data Systems (“EDS”) until its sale to Hewlett-Packard in late 2008.

Prior to EDS, Rittenmeyer was Chairman, President and CEO of Safety-Kleen Corporation, Chairman, President and CEO of RailTex, President and CEO of Ameriserve Food Services, President and COO of Ryder TRS, President and COO of Merisel and COO of Burlington Northern Railroad. He spent 20 years at Frito-Lay Inc. and PepsiCo Foods International holding a variety of senior level positions. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of American International Group (AIG), Tenet Healthcare Corporation and IMS, a privately held company.
