The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) is pleased to announce that after an extensive search, it has hired Mark Dobosz as its next Executive Director.  Mr. Dobosz will officially join NARCA in mid-August.

Mr. Dobosz has over 25 years of association experience and comes to NARCA from the SCORE Foundation where he served as President and the SCORE Association for which he served as Vice President of Development.

“With the changes and new challenges facing NARCA’s members, we are fortunate to have found an Executive Director of Mark’s caliber who can leverage issues into opportunities,” explained NARCA President Louis Freedman. “Members of NARCA’s Search Task Force described Mark as a strong relationship builder, a great communicator and public speaker, thoughtful and intelligent.  There is no doubt we hired the ‘A Player’ we were seeking.”

Commenting on his new position, Mr. Dobosz said, “I am honored to have been chosen to serve as NARCA’s new Executive Director.  NARCA’s commitment to its members, their clients and the community has been, and continues to be, an exemplary model for other trade associations to follow.  I look forward to working with a talented group of people to foster and continue NARCA’s strategic growth.”

Mr. Dobosz established the SCORE Foundation and national fundraising program to support the programs and projects of the SCORE Association – Mentors to America’s Small Business.  Under his leadership, the Foundation achieved tremendous growth through strategic planning and development of nationwide collaborative relationships.  Mr. Dobosz has served as a member of numerous associations, boards and foundations and is a frequent conference speaker and panelist.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College and pursued his graduate studies in educational administration at Wayne State University.

Mr. Dobosz replaces Doug Kleine, CAE of Transition Management Consulting, who served as NARCA’s Interim Director since November 2012.  Mr. Freedman noted that “Doug blessed our organization with his presence and quiet wisdom, and we are thankful for the guidance he provided through this period of transition.”

NARCA retained Jackie Eder-Van Hook, PhD, President of Transition Management Consulting, Inc., to spearhead and coordinate the executive search.  President-Elect Joann Needleman expressed gratitude to the Executive Search Task Force which, in addition to Ms. Needleman, included NARCA Members Louis Freedman, Secretary Tom Canary, Treasurer Bill Hicks and Past Presidents Chuck Pona, Adam Olshan and Fred Blitt. “We owe a debt of gratitude to the Task Force members.  Their hard work will result in a tremendous pay-off for NARCA now and in the future.”
