Marcus Bachmann Makes Personal Collection Call
Marcus Bachmann believes he can “repair” homosexuals through…I don’t know. Talk therapy and male fist-bumping? Forced viewings of the TV series “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Coach?”
His organization, Bachmann & Associates, has a whole plan, and the plan costs money, and some guy named John Becker booked several sessions in order to surreptitiously tape the goings-on but only went once and now Bachmann wants the guy to pay for the two sessions he didn’t attend to the tune of $150.
If Becker or the group Becker’s associated with, Truth Wins Out, doesn’t pay the disputed $150 by today, the account will be turned over to a collection agency.
We know this because Marcus Bachmann himself called and left a message on Becker’s cell:
Hello John Becker, this is Doctor Marcus Bachmann; I received a message from our billing department asking if we would write off the two no-show fees for 7/7/11 and 7/12/11. We will not be writing those off, so you do owe those no-show fees, and we would expect payment as soon as possible, otherwise we will have to turn it over to collections. If you have any questions you can call (651) 379-0444. Thank you.
Becker claims that he, in fact, canceled the subsequent two appointments via a phone call — which is part of Bachmann & Associates’ cancellation policy. Bachmann’s billing department, of course, says they have no record of this.
None of this is really about the missing appointments or $150. I’m not even sure if it would be financially prudent to expend the effort and money on $150 in the first place. That might be an amount better written off. What this is really about is embarrassment. Marcus Bachmann and Bachmann & Associates have claimed that they are not explicitly in the repairative therapy business. Becker claims that the video he captured in that first and only visit shows otherwise. It’s curious that Bachmann is only pursing Becker for $150 rather than attempting a more intensive legal pursuit for professional damages.
