Capping an historic change to its organizational governance structure, ACA International, the association of credit and collection professionals, has chosen Thomas Stockton of Texas to lead the newly elected 15-member board of directors.

After years of analysis, ACA members approved a new governance structure in March 2012. In addition to a 15-member Board of Directors, ACA has created a Council of Delegates representing its diverse membership. The election of the new board by the Council of Delegates at ACA’s recent 73rd Annual Convention and Exposition in Hollywood, Fla. was the final step in the transition. “I am both proud and humble to serve ACA members, particularly at such an important time in the association’s history,” said Stockton, whose term runs until July 2013.

In addition to President Stockton, the following are newly elected members of the ACA International Board of Directors:

Leslie Bender, President-Elect, Maryland
Tim Mabry, Treasurer, Oregon
Debra Ciskey, Illinois
Rick Doane, New York
Michael Gardner, Kentucky
Tom Gavinski, Minnesota
Tom Haag, Wisconsin
Bill Hopkinson, Virginia
Keith Kettelkamp, New Jersey
Matt Laws, Colorado
Loraine Lyons, Texas
Rick Perr, Pennsylvania
Jim Richards, Georgia
Mel Shaw, California

“ACA’s inaugural Board of Directors is comprised of exceptional industry leaders with diverse expertise and perspectives,” said ACA International Chief Executive Officer Pat Morris. “We are well-positioned to tackle the important opportunities and challenges facing our members.”
