Radius Solutions, Inc., a flexible, management-driven software and product provider based in Jacksonville, Florida, has announced it has acquired Astra Business Services, Inc., effective January 1, 2012. With this transaction, the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Radius. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition came about in large part due to the ongoing success of the recently-launched Radius Cell Manager, a new solution for every company seeking to comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and its prohibition against using automatic telephone dialing systems and predictive dialers to call cell phone numbers in any mode. This solution delivers four times as many dials to cell phone numbers for an 89% reduction in cost compared to other forms of manual dialing campaigns — and does so in a manner that old predictive dialer-based technologies cannot match.
Astra, which had been a preferred vendor to Radius prior to the acquisition, currently employs more than 300 full-time equivalents in Gurgaon and Dehradun, India, a number that has doubled since development and beta testing of the Radius Cell Manager, based solely on client demand for this solution.

Company projections indicate that Astra’s headcount is expected to triple this year. Greatly facilitating this rapid growth will be Astra’s current capacity to employ more than 5,000 agents and its perception as the premier employer in its labor markets. Gurgaon is a satellite city of Dehli and a part of the National Capital Region of India, only six miles from Indira Gandhi International Airport. Dehradun is the capital city of Uttarakhand, just north of the capital.
