Prince Sues Collection Agency for $116,000
Music icon Prince has filed a lawsuit against a debt collection agency to recover some $116,000 he claims the firm improperly seized from his bank account.
Prince alleges that Capital Asset Protection took approximately $116,000 from one of his bank accounts in June in two separate withdrawals. The collection agency was acting on behalf of a client that had won a contract dispute lawsuit against Prince.
But a judge had overturned the case in 2011, making the judgment null and void. Since the collection agency enforced the judgment after the case was overturned, Prince claims that it acted in error and must return the money.
The 54-year old superstar is also asking for interest on the money that was taken from his account.
There are no further details on the case, but from the facts presented, it looks like Prince may have pretty strong standing.
So let’s debate something else: Purple Rain or Thriller? Personally, Purple Rain has always been one of my favorite albums. But then again, Thriller was basically the greatest thing to ever happen. So it’s tough.

This is a split decision.
Purple Rain wins on ground breaking artistry and getting girls in the mood, Thriller wins on pop perfectionism.
Gotta give the edge to Thriller though, because while Purple Rain was definitely funkier, Thriller almost single handedly made the rest of pop music funkier. Can you imagine what the last three decades would have been like had Rick Astley, Air Supply and Wham! been allowed to flourish unchecked?
Purple Rain.
Hands Down.
Not even a debate, Thriller.
