Arbitration Resolution Services Inc., a cloud-based dispute resolution company, announces the addition of George Friedman, Esq. to its Board of Directors.

Friedman, an expert in arbitration in the United States, brings extensive industry experience to ARS.  He worked for the American Arbitration Association from 1976 to 1998, the last four years of which as the Senior Vice President.  From 1998 through January 2013, Friedman worked for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as its Executive Vice President and Director of Dispute Resolution.

Friedman has lectured extensively on the subject of alternative dispute resolution. He is the Adjunct Professor of Law at the Fordham Law School in New York for which he has taught a course on commercial arbitration since 1996.  He has also published articles in the New York Law Journal, the Rutgers Law Review, and the National Law Journal, among others.

Friedman earned a B.A. in political science from Queens College in New York in 1976 and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1981.  He earned his Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional certificate from The Wharton – FINRA NASD Institute in 2005.

Friedman’s appointment follows January’s addition of Randall Wood, a computer industry icon who co-founded Citrix Systems, a multi-billion dollar technology company.  As an active investor since 2000, Wood has been involved in the financing and oversight of numerous businesses in diverse areas ranging from real estate to technology companies.

“George brings an industry depth, experience and invaluable direction to the long term solution of resolving disputes.  We are honored and pleased to welcome one of the top arbitration experts in the nation onto our Board of Directors,” says Tom Weber, Arbitration Resolution Services President and CEO.  ”Between Randall’s technology experience and George’s legal expertise, the two create strong bookends for our Board of Directors.”
