Mr. Russell, now I know I am wasting my time trying to help an Industry fighting Bartmann when I have posted for years about the harm caused by CFS I on this site.I have written Stanislawski and a friend called and talked to this State Senator and told him the truth. My letters to BB, writers, Forbes, ACA, DBA, etc.. have been shared with members of your "team". I was around in 1994 and was asked by a local friend about a deal offered his client by BB and it took about 90 seconds for me to advise the friend to not match BB's price as it had to be a game.

I have seen every document in the 1994 - trial available to the Bankruptcy court and have mentioned a few key things to BB that only I know confirming my knowledge of the event. I have seen the entire course sold by BB and have challenged BB to discuss HIS presentation and I will destroy him. Wrote Cavuto many times to stop letting this guy get free press on Fox and testified in about 8 cases as an expert witness in trials caused by idiots trying to match CFS I price.

I wrote on this site as I listened to the World Economic Announcement BB made via the internet suckering in some fools to buy his tapes and join him in CFS II. Went to the DBA offering to advise how to handle this but while a few friends asked, no DBA, ACA, debt buyer, K & G attendee cared enough to find me; I am not searching for people I am trying to help! This can be stopped or at the least hindered or the Industry will be screwed again by a salesman with testosterone. You and other suits need to really try to help your subscribers and shove the goal of making money from them. Can't anybody see what is going to happen? Don't you care? The ACA and DBA could stop this if they would listen to people who understand what happened and what will happen if BB succeeds with CFS II and his motives.

Disgusted in Phoenix,

Even American debt collectors are rude and arrogant. It is much simpler to be nice and make objective decisions and it will be easier to collect.

..and we wonder why there are so many consumer lawsuits being filed against debt collectors ? the consumer has the right to demand that a collector prove they and the questionable debt are legitimate, and should tell these guys to either prove it, OR SHOVE IT ! A few law suits under criminal code , the end result being these clowns wearing an orange jumpsuit for several years and facing heavy financial penalty will cure this problem of deceit !

This story was in the local news today in my area. We have been running into many consumers over the last few months calling our agency wanting to know what they could do because they had forfeited money over out of fear and the local police were of no help. Many were afraid to pay us for legitimate debt because of word on the street that their neighbor or family member had been scammed. Glad to see these scum were finally caught.

That's an interesting point.

I called Rick Gundling, Vice President at Healthcare Financial Management Association. He pointed out: "These are patients that have already been determined to be non-emergency. They've been through triage."

Gundling also stipulated that it's not a cursory triage; it's the regular walk-into-the-emergency-room triage that any patient would get. After the triage nurse determines whether the case is emergency or not, then the mechanism for asking for payment is activated.

Hope that helps!

ANOTHER fine example of how the bad outfits and collector's are making a so called "real" name for the collection industry as a whole. It makes legitimate collectors and collections in general look aweful and like bad people.

information "found it's way..."? Thaker "obtained" information....?

Information is not capable of "finding" it's way. Where'd they get the info that included SSN's, especially since many of the debts were nonexistent?

My question to HCA would be: "How are you getting around federal law, specifically EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act) which prohibits any financial discussions prior to triage and stabilization?" I would assume, lacking any specificity in the article, that they do a cursory triage and make a non-emergency determination and then advise the patient of the deposit required before being seen by a doctor for treatment. The problem would come in with how extensive the triage is since someone could appear to have just an earache who actually has otitis media.
